About the Candidate

Joyce Xie is a State Committee Member, former District 20 Community Education Council member, devoted mother of three, and longtime Brooklyn community advocate. She is running to ensure every resident has a voice and the opportunity to thrive. Her platform focuses on cleaner and safer communities, immigrant rights, quality education for all, and strong support for seniors and small business owners to keep neighborhoods affordable, safe, and thriving.

Xie has an established history of local civic engagement and grassroots leadership in Brooklyn:

• State Committee Member: She actively serves as a State Committee Member, District Leader, representing her local community within the Brooklyn Democratic Party infrastructure.
• Education Advocate: She is a former member of the Community Education Council (CEC) for School District 20, where she worked to shape local education policy and advocate for Brooklyn students and families.
